1. Who we are

Mao Taxi Express ("we", "us", "our") is a taxi and chauffeur service operated by Marios Themistocleous, a licensed professional driver, under the trade name Mao Taxi Express (registered trade name no. 682677, Registrar of Companies, Cyprus; VAT no. CY82905463Z), based at Ismet Pasa 6, Limassol 3042, Cyprus, reachable on +357 94 006801. These Terms apply whenever you contact us through this website, WhatsApp, phone, Viber or Telegram, or travel with us.

2. How bookings work

This website is a way to reach us — the trip planner, map picker and fare estimator on the homepage prepare a message that is sent to us via WhatsApp. A booking is only confirmed once we reply and agree the pickup time, route and price with you directly. Submitting the form does not, by itself, guarantee a driver or a price.

3. Fares and payment

Prices shown on this site (including the "from" prices on the Airport Transfers board and the estimate in the trip planner) are indicative and are calculated from approximate driving distance and a standard rate. The price that applies to your trip is the one we confirm to you in writing (WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram or email) before the trip. Once confirmed, that price is fixed and will not change for the agreed pickup, drop-off, date and time.

A confirmed price changes only if you ask for something different from what was agreed — for example a different pickup or drop-off point, additional stops, a changed pickup time, extra passengers or luggage that need a larger vehicle, or extended waiting time. We will tell you the new price before it applies.

Standard adjustments, quoted to you in advance: a night rate of +20% for pickups between 20:00 and 06:00, and a vehicle upgrade of +40% (Executive Van, 6 seats) or +60% (Minibus, 8 seats) over the Executive Saloon price. There is no booking fee, no card payment fee, and child seats are provided free of charge when requested in advance.

Payment is made directly to the driver at the end of the trip, by cash or by card.

4. Cancellations, waiting time and no-shows

You can cancel or change a booking by phone, WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram or email. We take no payment in advance, and you only pay for a trip that takes place.

• Free cancellation: up to 2 hours before the agreed pickup time (for airport arrivals, up to 2 hours before the scheduled landing time). No charge, no questions.
• Late cancellation: if you cancel less than 2 hours before pickup and the driver has already set out for you, we may charge a call-out fee of up to 50% of the confirmed price. If we have not yet dispatched a driver, there is no charge.
• Waiting time, city and other pickups: the first 15 minutes after the agreed pickup time are free.
• Waiting time, airport arrivals: we track your flight, so a late or early flight never costs you anything extra. After landing, the first 60 minutes for passport control and baggage are free.
• Extra waiting: beyond the free waiting time above, waiting is charged at €10 per additional 15 minutes. We tell you before any extra waiting is charged, and it is not charged for delays that are not your fault.
• No-show: if the driver is at the agreed place and cannot reach you once the free waiting time has passed, the trip may be treated as a late cancellation (up to 50% of the confirmed price).
• Exceptional circumstances: if you cancel because of illness, a cancelled flight or an emergency, contact us and we will not charge you.

If we cancel, or cannot provide the trip, you pay nothing. Any fee mentioned here is always communicated to you before it is applied, and nothing in these terms limits your rights under Cyprus consumer law.

5. Flight tracking

For airport transfers, we make a reasonable effort to track your flight and adjust pickup timing accordingly. This depends on accurate flight details being provided to us in advance and on flight-tracking data being available; we can't guarantee tracking for every flight or in every circumstance.

6. Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate pickup, drop-off, date/time and passenger details.
• Be ready at the agreed pickup point and time.
• Treat the vehicle and driver with respect; you're responsible for damage caused by you or your party.
• Follow seatbelt and child-seat requirements as applicable under Cyprus law.

7. Liability

We carry the licensing and insurance required to operate as a taxi service in Cyprus. Our liability for any claim relating to a trip is limited to what is required under applicable Cyprus law and our insurance cover. We are not liable for delays or losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control (traffic, weather, road closures, flight delays, and similar).

8. This website

This website uses third-party services to work: OpenStreetMap/Nominatim and Leaflet for maps and address search, and OSRM for route/distance estimates. These run in your browser when you use the trip planner or map picker — see our Privacy Policy for details.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies to bookings made after it was last updated.
